- What if my transcripts do not include 1 year of Algebra with a C or higher grade?
- You can complete the Tech Math class through SkillsPrep.org. Once successfully finished, we will accept your completion certificate to meet our math education requirement.
- How long will the application process take?
- After completing your application and submitting your transcripts, we will schedule you for the aptitude test. If you are successful, we will schedule you for an oral interview. This process typically takes 2 to 3 months to complete.
- How can I submit my transcripts?
- We can ONLY accept official transcripts that are either (A) in a sealed envelope from you high school or (B) electronically sent to us directly from Parchment.com.
- Are there any resources to help study for the aptitude test?
- You can self-study using Khan Academy for free or purchase online preparation courses at ElectricPrep.com.
- I did not pass the aptitude test. Can retake it?
- You must wait 90 days before retaking the aptitude test. There is no fee, but you must contact our office to be scheduled.
- My interview performance wasn't great. Can I request to reinterview?
- You must wait 90 days and either work 450 hours in the electrical industry or take two trade-related classes before reinterviewing.
- What if I want to gain experience during the application process?
- You can contact our office and request to be placed as an electrician helper. Depending on the need, we may be able to place you with a contractor.
- What if I am not selected? Will my application expire?
- If you are not accepted within 365 days of your interview, you must fill out a new application.
- When are apprenticeship classes selected?
- We start classes up to five times per year. The number of applicants we select depends on industry demand. Applicants who are selected for apprenticeship typically begin working immediately for one of our partner NECA contractors.
